JFO Campaign: Thanking Jorja
The campaign is over. Long live the campaign! As promised, JFO no longer advocates sending letters to CBS/CSI/Jorja about Jorja leaving the show.
Instead, I’m asking you to send ME letters. Crazy, I know. But I told you I had a plan in case she was leaving.
Jorja’s leaving, and we can’t stop her. I don’t want to! I want to thank her. For seven kick ass years of CSI, for a year of The West Wing and three on ER. She’s been doing TV for 11 eleven years! Can you believe that? Eleven years, hardly a month has gone by where she wasn’t working long hours on a TV set.
Now, if it was just me? I’d send her a thank you card from Chez Ipstenu and be done with it. But there are 40,000 people who come to this site a month, and YOU deserve to say thank you as well. This site wouldn’t be what it is without you, so the thank-you is as much to you as it is to Jorja.
To do this, I will take letters, be it snail-mail or email, that tell a story about you and Jorja. How did you first learn about Jorja Fox? When did you become a pink-mohawk sporting fangirl? Did Jorja’s activism make you rethink your own life choices? What was your favorite episode or movie she was in, and why? Got a photo? Send me that too! I have a scanner if you don’t and I’ll happily scan things in.
Anyone who’s submitted a story for Life with Jorja will automatically be included. If you want your new story to go up on the wiki, please let me know, and include what name you’d like to be posted under. If you mail me a letter, please include any internet handle you wish to be known by. I will not be giving out your RL contact info unless you explicitly tell me to.
Don’t worry about your spelling or grammar. Don’t worry about if you worded it ‘right’. Say it from the heart and with feeling.
In January, I’ll print it all your stories up in a pretty, hardbound edition, and send it off to Jorja’s agency. Photos will all be put in a nice, silver photo-stand (it has room for 40 photos / letters) and sent with.

It’ll probably go all seven games, but the Sox will lose in the end (hopefully). Not that I’m a baseball fan, but I just don’t like the Red Sox.

Yeah, mine will be personal too. Mrs. Ipstenu is hemming over what to say right now (mostly because I sprung it on her a couple days ago by saying ‘… and you need to write a letter too.’ I’m in trouble now!

Personally, I listened to the music on JF.org while I wrote mine, It worked out very nice indeed.

I was also thinking about writing her a “thank you”-letter but wasn`t sure if she ever get to see it when I send it to her agency. So please, please keep me a spot open!
I`ve two questions:
First…when is the deadline for the letter (I`d have to mail it)?
Second…can it also be handwritten (I`d like to make it a little more personal)?
I’m going to mail it off in January, so as long as you get the letter to me by Christmas, it should be fine. (I’m taking a week off in FRANCE in December, so that’ll be my New Years Day project)
Fabulous idea. I sent three handwritten notecard letters for these campaigns, and I’ll write something tomorrow for this fabulous project.

As far as names - I sign mine as David “Nightwolf” Masters; that’s usually the way I prefer to see it posted.

Depends on where you go in France… in some areas they don’t like Americans, and Georgie has made it worse. As in any foreign country, just be polite, try and learn a few phrases and words of the native language, respect their customs and don’t be too outlandishly American (loud tourists in Hawaiian shirts who proclaim that they do it better in America, etc).
I’ve never hit France myself, but I’ve been in Canada (the Maritimes, Quebec, Toronto) several times, Mexico a couple of times (Tijuana), England, Scotland, Denmark and Puerto Rico. Most of it back when I was in the Marines, which was almost three decades ago.
Heck, is there any real way to thank Miss Fox for all of her great work over the years? We could always send her flowers, but by this time she probably has enough to set up her own nursery.
She’s never played a ‘normal’ character yet, and Sara Sidle was definitely the most screwed up of the bunch… yet Jorja portrayed her so well, with so much humanity, that you couldn’t help but be interested in the character. She manages to engender an empathy and sympathy for every character she plays, and makes you want to know more about the character. Maybe you’re not a fan of GSR (I’m not, that’s for sure), but you can’t help being a fan of Sara. Jorja is a lovely woman, in every sense of the word.

Part 2 of Ausiello’s interview with Carol Mendelsohn is up. No mention of Jorja - other than Ausiello wondering who is going to replace Sara & Grissom in the relationship department - but there is speculation (by Ausiello, of course) that others may be leaving the show.
Very good idea…fortunately, you need them for Christmas cause as I’m French (nice to know that you’ll be coming to visit my wonderful country…don’t worry, most French people are nice
), I’ll have to write it in French first, then translate it…It will take me my time…but it’s worth it.
And many many thanks for your site. It’s in my favourites since many years.I was a lurker since, but Jorja’s decision to leave CSI made me come out from my shell…It’s important for me to write her a letter to thank her for all these years and it’s really nice to you to organize that. Thx !!!

The address posted in your #1 questions area is misleading… it says for headshots & autographs.
I want neither, so I thought there may be some other address to actually send cards to her.

I didn’t think it was that misleading, given that the first line on that page says ‘The following is the official address for Jorja Fox, as listed on her website in November of 2006.’, however the questionable line is removed.
That is the one and ONLY address you should use when contacting Jorja Fox. If there were any other addresses, they’d be listed. I keep no secrets from fans, unless asked to by Jorja and/or her agency.
