CASA Fund Raising Still Going Strong

With a goal of $5000 for CASA, Jorja Fans have raised $3705.62 so far. Please consider Making a Donation for a worthy cause.

Currently JFO’s money is going to a cause a little closer to home. My mother lives just about a mile from where the Witch Fire in California was stopped, so we’re sending our charity fundage there. Don’t worry, mom’s fine. If you’re out in CA and can help, people need food and water. Also, if you’re near my old town of Del Mar and you like horses, there are almost 3000 horses at the Fairgrounds, and they’re suffering from the crap in the air.

Animals need food, water and love. Donate blood, no mater where in the US you are (I can’t, I have low blood pressure and they kick me out). The Red Cross will take your donations, and the California Firefighter Association needs help too. They’re woefully understaffed. Direct Relief is also raising money for the cause.

My mother was lucky. A lot of people weren’t. I lived in San Diego county for ten years, and Santa Barbara for four before moving out East, so I consider a lot of the places that were burnt my home. Please help out if you can.

I’ve got low blood pressure as well… combine that with my low blood sugar, and I haven’t been able to donate blood for years. Just beware that there are plenty of scams already popping up out in California - don’t donate to just any organization, and ignore any emails you may get about helping a cause, even if it appears to be from a reputable organization such as the Red Cross or the Humane Society. Most charitable organizations do not solicit via email. If you wish to donate to a charity, go to that organizations’ home page or check your local phone book.
