WGA Strikes - No new Late, Late tonight.
I’m not going to get into the whys about the strike, you can look that up on your own here. However, this affects you. The Hollywood writers strike forces “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” into reruns, so no, Jorja will not be on tonight. (Craig is on strike, being a writer).
I’ll still record it, just in case, but I won’t stay up to watch. The View MAY still be on, but I’m not sure.
If the strike goes on more than a few days, then “The View” will be into reruns as well. It would’ve been nice if they could have waited a couple of weeks, but I understand their reasons. Dammit.
(sigh) I did stay up (thanks to a cup of tea that’s gonna cause a partly sleepless night)… rerun.
Depending on how long the strike goes on, they’ll either reschedule her appearance or cancel it entirely.
So I didn’t miss anything…
Did you hear/see Marg Helgenberger also protested…?
Of COURSE she would… Her husband is a PART of the Writers Guild…. But, She was seen with a poster, and was walking with the crowd….
Dang it.. Had a feeling something like this would happen….
But, I dont get it?…..
Why strike? Do they have a reason for it? Or is it just a rare occurance?

Billy, Robert David Hall and David Berman all joined the picket for day 2 with David Rambo at CBS.
And the reason for the strike has to do with what else but money - AMPTP wants to keep the amount of money that the writers earn with residuals for DVD sales and online downloads to 4cents. WGA are asking for DVD’s to be increased to 8 cents and online media to be paid at the same rate as television (about 2.5% I think)

Also the result of this strike will effect how the other negotiations go next year.
As said in this post, I’m not going to get into the why and wherefore of the strike. Personally I support this.
