Wow.
I do give it three stars for Sara, but that’s an episode I never want to watch again. It was way too heavy. I dreaded the watch-back and screencap. But this I do for you. The bit with ‘Grissom’ at the beginningwas in keeping with things, I feel, and was why this was a three star and not two.
Oh and here’s the intro dialogue you may like.
Grissom: [Voicemail] This is Gill Grissom. I’m unable to take your call, please leave a message.
Sidle: [To her phone] Hello, Gilbert. Happy Anniversary. I hope you’re out there celebrating. And it’s official, time differences really suck. Look, I miss you. I’m going to try to call you back later. It’s been a while, you know, since we really caught up. Love you.
Russell: [To his phone] … nah, I’m taking good care of myself. Matter of fact, I had leftover pizza for breakfast… I’m kidding honey! … I know you’re needed up there, but I need you down here, too… Love you too, sweatheart. Bye bye.
Sidle: Welcome to the joys of long distance relationships.
Russell: I don’t know how you do it…

OMG. That opening scene was probably the best opening & highlight of that episode, that I’ve seen in a LONG time!! I love the idea of reuniting GSR, & this scene made me very happy & sad, that they have to celebrate separately, but I think their October 17th is their anniversary now:))
I agree, this was a heavy episode and for me there simply wasn’t enough forensics…apart from the mushroom. I would almost class this as an SVU script if not for the cast. The GSR bit was good but the rest left me cold. The drawing for instance, my partner watched and said straight off…oh she’s drawn a windfarm. We aren’t children and we need better than that. We demand better scripts than that.
The tongue thing got to me. I don’t know why, but I was just all ‘eeeeeh’ and happy I could fast forward a lot. You’re right, not enough forensics

Two writers we seriously need back to the show, you know who they are. The best two writers the series ever had, Sarah and Naren. Even if they are only the odd guest writer now and then it would make a world of difference.
I love that exchange, and I am very happy to finally get some GSR. But if it’s their wedding anniversary, shouldn’t he be ‘celebrating’ with his wife?!

he should be! GSR desperately needs to get back together… I’m afraid of how the ratings will continue to go down if they don’t give the faithful and longtime fans what they want, which is GSR. I want Sara to be happy!
