Female First Talks to Jorja about CSI and Music

GuitarIs it true that you have a rather special guitar?

Oh, I do, I wish I could play it the way I feel like it should! I like to actually loan it to people to play because it’s just an amazing guitar and I never really do it any justice. I have this blonde 1965 hollow body Rickenbacher and they didn’t make many of them and it’s really just like listening to angels.

Is music something you’d like to explore more then?

I don’t have the time yet. Oddly enough when I was younger my number one dream was to be the lead singer in a rock and roll band. Acting ended up being the place where I was able to carve out a living for myself, so there was a point where I let go of music professionally.

It was hard for a minute, letting go of any dream is going to be like that, but it’s something that I do now just for the fun of it. I love the fact that it’s not professional, that it’s just me and some friends who get together and play. It’s nice to have something that’s not about making a living or trying to impress anyone else.

Of course there’s some CSI stuff in there too, but this was the most resonant part to me. Oh and I don’t know if that’s ‘the’ guitar, but it’s certainly a blond Rickenbacker.

  1. Thanks for posting. I wish she did more singing/music stuff – the clip I’ve heard of her singing on Youtube is pretty good!

  2. You’re awesome again! Thank you for keeping us informed :)

    • And again she made me laugh :) Her way of explaining things is so funny :) I can’t believe she says she’s not smart! No way! ;)

      • I wish she’d get to do more comedy :)

        • Every time I read or hear her I end up laughing and with stomach ache :) She’s a great aid for my down days as she always can cheer me up. No matter what. My hubby told once he losses with her :p Watching all those interviews I noticed she’s all the same doesn’t matter when the interview was shooted. And it would be a nice to see her in different genre. I love Sara but I’m a bit worried if Jorja will ever have any chance to get a role by just being herself and not being seen as a crime buster.

  3. Nice read. I wish us folks in the UK didn’t have to wait as long for the new seasons of TV shows to start, but c’est la vie!

Also, Ipstenu, that’s not a pic of a Rickenbacker at all! (Sorry, I play guitar and get picky about these things.) You’re looking for something along the lines of this: http://www.dawsons.co.uk/rickenbacker-330-semi-acoustic-mapleglo

Rickenbacker guitars were used by the Beatles, so that makes them quite popular!

  4. Is it wrong of me that my hackles got up when they spelled Warrick’s name “Warwick”? It’s a little thing, but it’s not hard to research. Stuff like that keeps me from reading interviews. Isn’t that sad?

But, that being said, I really wish she’d stop dumbing herself down in interviews. She’s clearly a very smart, savvy woman in her own right. No, she didn’t go to Harvard or Berkeley, but she’s survived in an industry that eats women alive. She’s outspoken, she’s clearly charming, and she’s got a head on her shoulders.

    • They also say ‘Sarah Sidle’ a lot. I’m resigned to it ;)

      • Oh the “Sarah” thing … yeah. Let’s not get me started.

        • I noticed the other day that on the season 6 UK DVD’s there is a mini documentary about the Trajectory of Season 6 and they have Jorja speaking and the tag at the bottom of the screen reads Sarah Sidle…. They can’t even get it right on something like that!!

Is this not the one she is talking about?

  6. Lee Bartholomew says:

Jill Hennessy does nowadays and ain’t half bad. the one pic I’ve seen of Jorja singing reminds me of Jill. Who frankly sings a song of Lady Gaga’s way better than Lady gaga can sing :P
