After two Sara-heavy episodes in a row I don’t expect much GSR until “Forget me not”, which will hopefully shed some light and give some hope. I guess Billy’s appearance is not looking likely though or we’d heard some rumours by now.
I believe writers wouldn’t have started on this story arc without a clear idea as to how they’d end it and I can’t accept for a second their mission is to destroy GSR. They’d gain nothing but loyal fans’ resentment.
I might reread some heartwarming GSR fanfics from years ago in the meantime:)
I know that episode 14 is very much a stand alone, so unless they snuck in something after the fact, which is totally possible, we won’t get anything but pointed looks. And we alllllll know how Jorja sells those pointed looks

I did fall in the game, but then like you said, Sara is the one who believed in that relationship in the first place… Grissom just followed her. I think they will have a common couple problem and end up making love… out of nothing at all

I hadn’t watched this in a VERY long time, & when I did at this time with so much going on w/ GSR, it was like a reassurance from him during this time that its gonna be ok. No matter what happens in 13×15 w/ Sara & everything, I really believe GSR will live on & come out stronger on the other side. This is something that’s helping me to keep calm & trust Sara. And Grissom is just being Grissom & I know Sara means the world to him & is his heart. I don’t think there’s anything that would make Grissom give up Sara. I really don’t & I hope I’m right!

Thank you for that quote—however, do we have the same ‘players’ on the field? Other than Jorja, has everyone else moved on? Do the current writers have a history? That’s what worries me. As much as Jorja loves Sara and GSR history, she is under a contract to be “Sara” as the current writers/showrunners write her. I just can’t trust TPTB!!
I have the exact same fear as you. Maybe they don’t want Grissom to make an appearance or maybe they think GSR isn’t needed anymore or something… Which is so totally wrong but I’m holding on to the fact that yes Jorja just has to be “Sara” she loves GSR & I’m trusting & hoping that Jorja wouldn’t let them ruin it… & I think that we at least have some original show runners… Like Carol Mendelsohn… & maybe possibly just one writer? But I honestly don’t know :/

But my worry is that Jorja is the only one left who is pro GSR! Is Carol Mendelsohn even there–other than her name on the credits? And I’m not sure how pro GSR she was until she realized the fan base for it.

I’d love if she was given the opportunity to write an episode! That would be so fun. I wonder what would happen if each cast member was given the chance to write their own episode to develop their character more… I wonder if they let Jorja have a say at all in the writing process for this ep or an input on where it all goes…?
I’m totally up for her traveling to see him! I’ve always thought that a way to keep it interesting and GSR/Sara fans happy for like an ep or two that Jorja’s not in, they should have Sara not there because shes off seeing Gil. Or have her off somewhere exotic on screen.

Looong time ago now. More than half the run of the show. 
She is still stunning:) She does not seem to of aged much at all! I can’t believe that is more than half the run of the show… omg!
Wow. O’, so drunk right now (i.m in the UK and it’s after 2am here).Just got in from night with the girls. Honestly can’t get this GSr stuff out of my head (sad but true). Been with my partner for 10 years, but if Sara and GRiss don’t make it, i’ll wonder if anyone can. Can’t believe i have to wait a month to find out what’s going on with them. Ugh. Gutted. Just feels wrong, and i don’;t have the same faith in these new writers. GSR dones;’t feel so safe anymore. SHit

They’re just TV characters, Tania. They’re scripted in a way to be dramatic, and to make people watch. You can’t use anyone from the fictional world as a measuring stick for your real life relationships. As much as we like to justify things by comparing them to our real lives (Long Distance Relationships are not unfamiliar in my world), the reality is they’re not real.
PS: Drink lots of water, it helps prevent hangovers

I haven’t been here in literally years… Stopped watching CSI a couple years ago – I couldn’t take Langston and never got around to try it again with Ted Danson. But I used to be a huge Jorja fan, and GSR fan too, so I thought I’d stop by and see how things were. This is shocking to say the least. If they break up CSI – well, let’s just say I’ll be glad I stopped watching it long ago. At any rate… this episode sounds good enough to make me do a revisit. It’s been about 4 years, but I’ll give this episode a go.

Ipstenu, Grissom could never be a killer now that “Dexter” on Showtime features a medical examiner who goes around murdering wrongdoers who have escaped justice catching up with them.
“Keep Calm and Trust Jorja” reminds me of a T-shirt that a company had for sale the summer between Season 7 and Season 8. There was a muddy handprint on the front along with the words, “Be My Idol….Don’t Kill Sidle”. I still have mine.

Ipstenu, how many writers has “CSI” lost and how many of them were pro Sara and pro GSR? I hate to think Sara could be written off the series by newbies who don’t like the character.
Well, realistically, if you’re hired to write for a show, you like the main characters of the show. However, liking the guest villains doesn’t really factor in. Could Sara be written off? Of course. But unlikely. And a ‘new’ writer doesn’t have that power. Actually a writer doesn’t have that power on their own.

I think you are hinting at what I fear–new writers want to put their own ‘stamp’ on episodes and characters. How many fans know Rambo and Goldfinger? Lots of us–what would a writer give for that kind of name recognition by fans? LOL! We can’t give $$$ but I certainly tuned in to “Revolution” because Rambo is there (I can’t say I like that series)!! I don’t think Rambo knows this, but he’s a romance writer at heart!!
My fear is no one is really directing the arc in a way that is consistent with history. Someone (several, maybe) decided “oh, let’s mess with this story and put our own kind of twist to it”….does this many any sense?
Now I’m in shock because I didn’t know Sarah Goldfinger had left the show.

And how do they decide who stays to write and who doesn’t? Do the writers we all love leave by choice?
Rambo’s contract was not renewed by CBS and he’s now at NBC. Goldfinger has written for Hawaii 5-0, but I don’t watch that show, so not sure if she’s there.
Rambo came in at the request of WmPetersen because of Rambo’s play writing experience. He wrote “Butterflied” and “Kiss Kiss” episode with Faye Dunnaway, and the “Bull” episode. I mean–he made bull riding romantic!!
Oh, and also the “Man with the Horn” episode.
David Rambo is also the man who said “Jorja needed a few months off” in an interview he gave while walking the picket line during the writers’ strike. That alerted all of us to the idea Jorja hadn’t really left the series for good. And she hadn’t.
It’s a shame so many great writers have left CSI:( David Rambo, Sarah Goldfinger, Naren Shankar were among my favourites, as well as Jerry Stahl for the most unusual subjects(and “Way to go” episode). But hey, Carol Mendelsohn is still there, would she allow anybody destroy GSR? If I was in Vegas it’d bet against it:)

Jorja’s dressing style has been noticed here in Finland. That she prefers nice pants and shirts ovet fancy dresses even in public. And that she wears dresses only in situations where she really has to. She is just like Sara; doesn’t pay too much attention on her clothes and can wear same clothes many times – even in front of cameras.
And also the other similarity between Jorja and Sara was mentioned: their love for animals.

So. Are many of the first-run of Pro-GSR writers gone? Yes. But also so are many of the old ANTI-GSR writers. Many of the new writers are very much pro Sara, as well, and I think it shows. Treena Hancock and Melissa R. Byer are ‘new’ and they’re the ones behind “The Two Mrs. Grissoms”
To say “OMG they’re new! They won’t love Sara like we do!” is having a lack of faith in the fact that CBS and CSI knows where their bread is buttered. I think this current round of writers have a good feel for Sara, and have not (yet) written her in an inconsistant way to what we’ve seen before. It doesn’t feel like a jarring role reversal, but just someone who’se grown and changed over time.
The fact that we still don’t know exactly why Sara came back cannot be blamed on them either
And the fact that we do have to make up reasons why Grissom’s not around is also not their fault. It’s not an easy answer that would please everyone.
I just thought of something. These new writers are finally going to let us meet Laura Sidle.
Is Carol Mendelsohn still around on a daily/weekly basis? Did I read she had moved on to explore options with new shows? I know her name is on the credits, but so are about 12 other people who are no longer around! No wonder poor Brass gets so little screen time–cut his hours and pay the executive producers!!
Thank you for being level headed and reminding us of both sides:) Though I try, I fail to do it as much as I should. But you have a really good point and right now, I’m just gonna try and…. wait and see what happens.
I have to say, whether they’re pro-Jorja/GSR or not, the show has been back to its best this season. I wasn’t a fan of Langston at all, and last season felt a bit too centred on the new characters (DB and Finn). It feels a lot fresher now. And come to think of it, the fact that Jorja has already had some fantastic eps so far this season would suggest that the new writers like the character / actress.
Certainly can’t complaint about the amount of screentime for Sara but I find the cases generally weak and forgettable these days, lacking originality and “wow” factor. Virtually no bizzare/weird subjects, and one case an episode seems to be the norm:( But maybe it’s just me.
I agree that I’m not really worried about them not like Jorja, (who couldn’t love her??) or Sara, I was more so about GSR. But as Ipstenu has said, this is a drama…. I think this has also been a really really strong and by far one of the best Sara seasons, but I do with they had more case episodes like the beginning seasons. Teaming up different team members and having more than one case per ep and more like bizarre stuff. But we also have gotten some interesting cases in an ep all by its self too.
OK – “back to its best” may have been a bit strong, but the show has deffo been a lot better than in recent seasons for me. And is it just me or have there been a lot more interruptions to the schedule this season? Seems like every other week it’s being pre-empted by something or other. Network television at its finest.
I agree that the writing has been very weak and sloppy and questionable at times this year with all of the new writers. Sometimes I wonder if they go back and watch the old episodes or read the old scripts. I just pray that they do not mess with GSR. I am praying that Grissom will make a surprise appearance.
Trusting Sara. Forever. While at the same time driving myself crazy with ideas of how things could play out. And then reminding myself to trust Sara …
Exactly. I can’t help but question, worry & try & figure out what’s gonna happen, but at the end of the day I’m constantly reminding myself to trust Sara. And no matter the writers, etc., I’m trusting Jorja.
