In an ongoing theme, this topic will remain open. I will update this post with screencaps and recaps shortly after the episode airs on the East Coast US. Well ... I WOULD post except CBS is a damn dirty liar, and either Sara's scenes were cut, or they told me lies when I asked if Sara/Jorja was in this episode ... and their press release was wrong. Bastiches.
Official Release
The CSIs discover that two seemingly unrelated crimes are actually part of a revenge plot.

Post Airing
Sara was not in the episode. She was in Parumph, working a quintuple homicide. Boo!

Well I am depressed and annoyed. I was all excited for more Sara. Someone has done up and told untruths!
Well maybe they realized how powerful you are and if you said no Jorja your 20 million followers wouldn't watch.
ok...lame. who says Sara is in Parumph
david said it when he walked into the crime scene with the guy in the store.
When I didn't see her name in the opening credits, I had hoped that I simply had missed it.
At least they mentioned where she was and I thought that was telling in itself.
I'm not sure they put her in the opening credits, or do you mean the 'Guest staring...' ones?
Either way, great big bummer
I'm glad my Canadian source let me know ASAP, but I wish I knew why CBS was having such a hard time letting us know what episodes Sara's in! It can't be THAT hard!
I meant it in the "Special Guest Star Jorja Fox spot just after the first set of adds and before the rest of the "visiting" actors.
I had my computer turned off at that time, so I figured, after about 20 minutes or so with no Sara, she was staying at the motel crime site out of town.
At least they mentioned her. I can't help but wonder if that was, in some way, to assure those of us who only elect to watch when she's on, that she was still going to show up in later episodes.
I'm sure it's not that hard; I think that CBS has correctly surmised that Jorja has enough of a fan base that people might stage a bit of a fit if they know beforehand when she's NOT going to be on. Better, for viewership (I think), for them to be evasive and let people think she MIGHT be on than for them to confirm beforehand that she will not.
Just a hunch.
I still liked the episode. I think this is a very good season so far.
I have an answer, of sorts... This was the original 'last episode' of Sara. Remember the original order of 5 eps? This was the last one. So the working theory (someone else came up with this) is that her scenes didn't make sense and were pulled.
I'll watch the ep this afternoon and see if I can figure out where it was cut. I'm usually pretty good with that (I-15 Murders's subplot with Sara and Warrick was re-cut and it showed, so were a few others - If you know what you're looking for, you can find it).
Well done, Ipstenu. You might have hit the nail on the head. Either Jorja had already filmed her (most recent)
departure or the writers had already written it and didn't have time to redo. So, that is the best explanation I've heard.
I too was very disappointed in this episode. The season started with a literal bang and the episodes since have been terrific-until this one. Forgettable. Murky plot and lighting and dull script. I dread this overhyped crossover week too. Caruso is annoying, Sinese is gloomy, and both imitation shows bug. And no Jorja for another week!!
I do send a little thanks for at least mentioning Sara in Death and the Maiden. Five dbs to process solo in Pahrump?? That was a stretch! I couldn't help thinking I'd rather see her story than the one shown. It would have been a treat, like Grissom's in Jackpot.
ILoveJorja
I haven't seen CSI yet so although I share your disappointment if it means more Langston I simply won't watch. I wonder if Jorja pleased she is not in it? Or if she would prefer to get up at 4.30am to do a scene by a river.
Yeah, I was really disappointed that Sara wasn't in the episode. I could have been doing school work! Although she wasn't in the credits, I was hoping that maybe she'd a bit part at the end or something, kind of like season 7 in Happenstance when she just comes in to talk to Grissom at the end.
I watched the entire program thinking the same thing. That is, that Sara would show up at the end.
I like Ipstenu's theory.
Now I am confused. ILoveJorja indicated that Jorja had filmed her last episode. Is that the literal sense of the word or that Jorja filmed the latest episode? Saw the episode where Jorja was missing. The episode was okay. Though it lacked the umphhhh that Jorja puts into it with her character. When does Lover's Lane appear? This next week or in Dec?
I think what she ment to say was that Jorja filmed the last of the 5 episodes that she originally signed up for; before they made her an offer that she couldn't refuse. Since she had probable filmed another tearful but joyful goodbye scene, it wouldn't have made sense for her to show up in the next episode as if nothing had happened. So the editors did what they get paid for the edited out her scenes and they more than likely filmed a few more scenes to fill in the gaps and to keep the main story on track. I saw the CTV (Canadian) Promo for Lovers Lane and she is in it.
When Jorja was originally leaving after 5 eps, her last episode WOULD have been "Death and the Maiden."
Lover's Lane is next week.
