Animal Acres Gala - 6 Sept 2008
Jorja Fox will, once again, attend The Animal Acres Gala. She’s not the Chair this year (give it up for Daryll Hannah!) but she will be in attendance.

The drive is over, and any money that trickles in today will be refunded. We’ve popped the top on our goal with $1098.90 raised.
Add that to the $1033.28 raised for Burma and that means Jorja Fox Fans raised $2132.18 in three months!
From the 80ish year old woman who called me for help setting up her paypal account down to the teenager whose parents called to make sure I was legit before putting their child’s allowance in some stranger’s paypal account, I salute you all.
With just over half a day left, we’re there. Astounding!
I want you all to take a moment and say ‘I rock’, because in the span of three months, you guys raised over $1000 for JAA’s Burma ‘It Can’t Wait’ fund, as well as JFO’s Animal Acres 40th Birthday for Jorja. Think about that power of fandom for something other than a new iPhone or a video game. We did something for the world, expecting nothing more than the good feeling.
That’s the kind of social action that inspires us to make the world a better place. We are all better people for doing this and I’m terribly proud to be associated with all of you! I’m in talks with Animal Acres right now to do the donation in a way that honors you guys as well as Jorja Fox.
So we’re not at $1000. $800 is still pretty awesome. There’s 4 days let to get your money in if you’ve been sitting on it. If you’re waiting for payday, feel free to let me know so I can hold off the money transfer for ya.
We’re getting there! Remember that all donations need to be in by July 1st. First so we can get it out by her birthday, second because Staff Ipstenu are going out of the country for two weeks on the 6th. That’s one week left!
We’re getting closer! With just 2 weeks to go, we have a real chance at making it, too!
By the way, those who asked why I’m not offering incentives: my real job matches money I donate up to $2000 for any one charity, provided I meet certain criteria. Sadly, offering y’all incentive is one of the things I can’t do. But it does mean that my donation will be followed by a matched, anonymous, donation from the company. Personally, I thought that was more important.
Updated with new percentage because you guys rock!
With just under three weeks left, we’re just over halfway there. I’m keeping the sidebar updated with the running total, so let’s see how far we can go and give Jorja a nice surprise for her birthday.
With a month to go, we’re almost halfway there. If you have anything left from the Burma Campaign (and woohoo! for JAA in breaking $1000), please consider Animal Acres.
First up, JAA is this close to the $1000 in 30 days they were hoping for. At $972 they’re doing an amazing job for Burma
Second up for JFO, we’re nearing $500 but we have another month to go. At $450, it ain’t chump change for Animal Acres.
And finally, our webmaster’s day-job is matching fund for hurricane relief in Burma, and she’s getting her office mates to drop some moolah for that as well. Total amount undisclosed since she’s taking the day off for her birthday.
The people have spoken. All funds raised between now and July 1st 2008 will be donated to …
This means we have an official goal of $1000 dollars.
As we get closer, we’ll figure out what area of the charity to donate too. With $1000 we can get Jorja’s name in the Gandhi Society, but with $2100, we can adopt a cow, pig, sheep, goat, turkey AND chicken for a year. We’ll see where it goes.
