History
Brass and Sara seem to have a friendly working relationship, free of any great antagonism or issues. They're able to work on cases of officer involved shootings without getting irate. This may be due to their lack of history together, and work-friendly relationship as opposed to an outside of work friendship. With the affection of a parent or uncle, Brass seems to like Sara and appreciates her work.
It was only Brass who noticed Sara was knocking back a few too many drinks in season four, and he called her on it.
