He tried to damage Grissom's reputation on a number of occasions and suspended Sara when she had that blow up with Catherine and he's more than likely got that no dating in the work place rule put in place. So if she doesn't like him why should she pretend otherwises. Also, the dig probably went over his head. Ecklie, from Sara's point of view, was always a thorn in Grissoms and her side.
