Dates We Expect CSI to be Bumped

CBS has announced some scheduling stuff, some of which is important to CSI. Like we can pretty much be sure of the dates CSI will get bumped off the schedule thanks to football.

November 30, December 21, and December 28 are dates we expect to have our show bumped a night, due to footballers, based on this:

CBS Sunday, Effective Nov. 30 (Football Doubleheader)
8:30-9:30 PM, ET/8:00-9:00 PM, PT MADAM SECRETARY
9:30-10:30 PM, ET/9:00-10:00 PM, PT THE MENTALIST (7th Season Premiere)
10:30-11:30 PM, ET/10:00-11:00 PM, PT CSI

CBS Sunday, Dec. 21 and 28 (Football Doubleheaders)
8:30-9:30 PM, ET/8:00-9:00 PM, PT UNDERCOVER BOSS
9:30-10:30 PM, ET/9:00-10:00 PM, PT THE MENTALIST
10:30-11:30 PM, ET/10:00-11:00 PM, PT CSI

And if you think they’re jerking us around, you should see what they did to The Mentalist. Ouch.

  1. So November 30, December 21, and December 28 no CSI? And they will air those eps a week later? I can live with that

  2. Thanks for the info! So disappointed by what they are doing! Some times those in the ivory tower don’t consider their audience. As we have all said there is more at play here, why can’t they be honest! :’(

    1. @Helly: I don’t understand how this isn’t being honest though. This isn’t the first show to have this happen, and they’ve given us the dates and expect us to be intelligent people about it so in as far as they can be respectful about the weird Sunday slot, they are.

Do I like CSI on Sunday? No. I liked Wednesday. But there are bigger things at play. Lots of shows have been impacted this season by the shuffles.

      1. I guess so I just hope that if this decision has been made and is final we have the best possible send off and ending, it deserves that and the cast and crew deserve that respect! I don’t pretend to understand the media industry particularly in the US, I suppose it’s me moaning about the end of an era potentially, as a fan I hope that Jorja is treated fairly and gets the best outcome at the end of the day! I love watching her on screen, and that enjoyment and investing in both the character and actor has helped me escape briefly from reality but also cope with my health issues. It might sound stupid and nieve but it has become a resource to managing constant pain, so selfishly I don’t want to lose that, so much better than the heavy meds I was using!

      2. @Helly: The one and only site to have even suggested that the show was canceled was a stupid parody site, you know.

I totally understand being invested in things to take you mind off other shit, and I support it. But if you’re at the point where your personal health is worse for being invested, you need to take a break and rethink things.

I love this show, it changed my life, and I will miss it when it’s gone. But… One day it’ll be gone, and hopefully CBS will give them fair warning. Since they’re already working on ep 12 of 18 and the writers have heard nothing about a cancelation, we can but hope. CBS has been very nice to The Mentalist, a much lower rated show, telling everyone THIS is the final season, so I have no reason to think they won’t be as kind to CSI at this point.

  3. I don’t have a sense at all that it’s being cancelled, but what do I know? Just saw the screencaps, Mika, and excited to find out it’s showing on Sunday. Can you help me with the math? If CSI downsized their order to 18 episodes, does that mean they took into consideration these number of Sundays when no CSI was going to air? Meaning we’ll still see a new episode each week that CSI airs?

    1. @turningleaf: Or rather, what I meant to say was, was the order scaled back to 18 in the expectation that CSI wouldn’t have time to air on certain nights.

      1. @Mika E. (Ipstenu): Aha, I feel that I’m on to something there ; ) Because it could be they moved CSI to Sunday and then realized the football-caused bumps. Then had to decide which show to cut orders of. That still sucks because I was looking forward to the “no repeats” this season.

  4. I wish I could be optimistic about the whole thing, but I really think CSI will be cancelled after this :’( . I just can’t see CBS renewing it at this point. What makes me even more sad though, is that I can’t imagine how the writers would end it, if we even get an ending at all.
