CSI: Vegas Has Been Greenlit

Straight from TV Line, CSI is coming back, only this time it’s CSI: Vegas

CBS announced today it has given a series order to CSI: VEGAS, the sequel to the Network’s global hit “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” one of the most-watched drama series of the 21st century. Original “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” stars William Petersen and Jorja Fox will reprise their roles as Gil Grissom and Sara Sidle, respectively. Produced by CBS Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer Television, the new CBS original series will star Paula Newsome, Matt Lauria, Mel Rodriguez and Mandeep Dhillon. Original CSI star Wallace Langham will also return to the series as David Hodges.

The new logline is interesting:

Facing an existential threat that could bring down the Crime Lab, a brilliant new team of forensic investigators must welcome back old friends and deploy new techniques to preserve and serve justice in Sin City.

So yes, this is real, and yes, this is happening.

How excited are we?

CSI: Vegas will air in the 2021-2022 season (this year!) and you can watch it on CBS or stream it on Paramount+.

  1. It’s pretty cool Wally has signed on as well ☺️ Eager to see what the ‘new’ csi will be like. Also pretty stoked to be getting Jorja back on our screens

    1. I am very excited, to see them together again I am sure they continue as a couple and to see them working together again is a dream. It The big doubt that I have are only the two of them or also a mini grissom or sara. I look forward to more kisses and hugs hahaha. To celebrate again I will read fanfic so that the wait is not so long.

  2. On the one hand it is great that CSI return because I’m going to see my Sara again, but on the other hand that I have to endure the relationship between ( grissom and Sara) both of them again

  3. Ok I can’t buck a return of my Sarah, but I have many reservations after what the writers did with her in the last couple seasons. Not to mention what happened with GSR. I’d almost rather leave well enough alone instead of making it worse. But I will be optimistic! Sarah & GSR’s development aside, idk how I feel about seeing more new people in the Vegas crime lab. Idk. CSI was so good, I’d rather just leave it alone and rewatch. It’s like remaking a great classic movie 50 years later when the original still has a solid following. It’s rare that a remake is as good. But I will still watch!

  4. I’m very excited! CSI was a big part of my teenage years and GSR – well, I adored them. I really hope it’s more about them helping the new team then the spotlight being on them as a couple – of course as a fan, it would be nice to watch. But the season finale was very gave us that closure, now I just want to watch them working together and solving crimes in their special way; like Season 7 era.

  5. Apprehensive sort-of excited. I so so hope it’ll be written by somebody who’s had involvement in the previous seasons, knows the series well etc, instead just using Grissom and Sara as a clickbait to a brand new show with barely any resemblance to the original. remember the anicipation of X-Files coming back but it just didn’t click for me, like something was missing and I wished they’d left in the past. However I’m trusting Billy’s and Jorja’s judgement that it was worth signing up for again and will of course watch.
